About Mashups

All Elmira College Freshmen register to take a common course titled FRESHMAN YEAR SEMINAR (FYS 1010) when they arrive on campus in the fall. Each professor tailors their section of this course to utilize their expertise in their own discipline. As a member of the Creative Arts Division, I created Mashups and Other Collisions in Literature and Art. This course focuses on the integration of the humanities and creative arts. Coursework was designed to help students develop traditional skills in written and oral communication by incorporating opportunities in communication through expression in the creative arts. Projects included drawing, sketching, collage, dance, music, poetry, sculpture and interpretive reading. Please go to the "links" page to see selections of students' work.
